by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and is accredited
with quality by the Georgia Accrediting Commission (GAC).
Memberships
The Heiskell School is a
member of the Atlanta Association of Independent Schools (AAAIS), Georgia
Independent School Association (GISA), Association of Christian Schools
International (ACSI), and Christian Schools International (CSI).
Location
The Heiskell School is situated
in the beautiful residential community of Buckhead near the Governor's
Mansion in northwest Atlanta. Centrally located at the intersection of
Northside Drive and Moores Mill Road, the school is easily accessible from
I-75, I-85, GA 400 and is just a few miles from downtown Atlanta.

Admissions
Admission requirements: Testing,
transcripts, recommendations, and observations depending on age level.
Materials explaining admissions procedures, including testing through
the JATP (Joint Admissions Testing Program) and SSAT, are available
through the admissions office. The Heiskell School adheres to the AAAIS
(Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools) admissions calendar.
Students may apply for immediate entry during the current school year if

Athletics
Physical education and
athletics
play an important role in the life of our school. In addition to regularly
scheduled physical education classes and quarterly intramural activities,
students have an opportunity to participate in afternoon sports activities.
Depending on the age, sports include softball, tennis, soccer, track, basketball,
and cheerleading. Parent Activities
Parents support The Heiskell
School through participation in many areas of school life. The
Heiskell
Booster Club provides opportunities for parents to make a significant
contribution to school life, as parents work together to plan special events
such as the Fall Festival and KidsRace. The Boosters Club supports
athletic programs and provides opportunities for fellowship with other
parents.
Heiskell parents are invited to share
many memorable events with their children and are encouraged to
participate in activities that enrich school life. School events
which foster family relationships and build happy memories include the
Father-Son Outing, the Mother-Daughter Tea, the Father-Daughter
Valentine Dinner and the Mother-Son Event. Parents are also
invited to contribute directly to students' academic growth through our
Fine Arts Picture Parent Program and Junior Achievement.
After Graduation
Our graduates have excelled
in some of the finest college preparatory schools in Georgia. They have
graduated from some of the most respected institutions of higher education
in the country, from Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Columbia International
University to Princeton, the Naval Academy and West Point. Others stay
closer to home, graduating from Emory, Georgia Tech, and the University
