A Heart to Pray
It's Time to Pray
Thursday nights at The Heiskell School beginning November 5th
In I Timothy 1:18-2:5 the Apostle Paul instructs his young protégé Timothy, "This charge I commit to you, son Timothy ... that you wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience ... Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. for there is one god and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom of all."
Christians are not powerless. "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." II Corinthians 10:4. We are called to pray, to talk to our God, to intercede for our nation and for our leaders. Ours prayers avail much, for we have a God who stands behind His Word. "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." James 5:16
The Heiskell School is opening its doors on Thursday evenings, beginning November 5th, at 7:00 p.m. for all who want to come together to pray for our nation. Parents are welcome to invite friends, family and other believers to join us on Thursday evenings.
"... if my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14
