What
We Are Learning:
Psalm 1:1-6 History We will bring the study of the Colonial Period to an end with the culminating activity of "Colonial Day". We will be making butter, dipping candles, using quill pens and ink as well as several other activities that will allow the students to get a taste of what life was like during this fascinating era. Literature We are reading the novel The Borrowers. Do you ever wonder why it is that one is always misplacing items such as pencils and pens, keys, safety pins, hairpins, matches, needles or even homework? The Borrowers is a story about The Clocks, Pod, Homily, and their daughter Arrietty who live in a miniature world and live by furnishing their home with "borrowed" items from humans. Their borrowing goes unnoticed until one day Arrietty makes the worst mistake a Borrower could make. A human sees her. Chaos follows but concludes with the Clocks starting a new life, which brings new experiences. Science We are in the process of studying life science currently and are performing many hands-on activities. Please feel free to visit our project displays outside of our classrooms. They show a great deal of creativity and are very entertaining. Foreign
